4 A LEVELS
A levels sind dem Abitur vergleichbare Hochschulqualifikationen. Zur Beendigung der höheren Schulbildung wählen Schülerinnen und Schüler in England, Wales und Nordirland zwei oder drei Fächer. Die Kurse schließen häufig an GCSE-Kurse der gleichen Fachbereiche an und dauern normalerweise zwei Jahre, die Abschlussprüfungen werden im Alter von 18 Jahren abgelegt. Zu den Universitäten werden Studenten im Allgemeinen nur dann zugelassen, wenn sie von den Universitäten festgelegte Notendurchschnitte in den A levels vorweisen können.
